Submission checklist

As part of the submission process, you need to check that your submission complies with the following. Submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in the accompanying email).

The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses);

Charts, tables and illustrations (with the exception of photographs or other images) should be embedded in the text at an appropriate point, and accompanied by a caption containing all necessary information.

For photographs or other images, please provide a caption positioned roughly where you would like the photo to appear in the article. The images themselves should be provided separately (as attachments to the submission email) in their original format and should be given file names which make it clear which image belongs to which caption (best way to do this is to call your images Image 1, Image 2 etc).

The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines;

You have clearly stated your name(s) and affiliation(s) as they should appear when the item is published.

Copyright

By submitting to the UKAHN Bulletin you are granting us an exclusive license to publish your article rather than assigning copyright. In this arrangement, you as the author retain copyright in your work, but grant us exclusive rights to publish and disseminate it. This is the more usual model in open access journals.

Submitting to The UKAHN Bulletin

Your article, along with image files where necessary, should be submitted via email to bulletin@ukahn.org. You will receive an acknowledgement that we have received your contribution, or a query if we cannot open any of the files.

Review

All items submitted to the UKAHN Bulletin go through both a review and an editing process and you will be kept informed as to the progress of your submission. You will have an opportunity to see and to correct the final version once it has been prepared for digital publication.
